Core Function:  
Our information technology project is called IKNOWMEE.  IKNOWMEE is a software application that measures the user’s time and energy spent on the web and mobile. This software will allow the user to optimize time and energy throughout the day, ultimately living a more productive and balanced life.

 

Insights from Interviews:     
We interviewed several women in information technology and we learned that the problem in today’s society is self-awareness. We are unaware of how we spend our time on binge-worthy applications like Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and Netflix. 

From our interviews, those applications distract almost every individual from achieving their goals, ultimately leading to a habit of procrastination. The productivity declines the longer you are on the internet. 

You get side tracked and sooner or later you realize that you have just spent three hours mindlessly browsing the social media, and this happens over and over gain. Everyone who is well-versed in technologically is vulnerable to this.

For example, we don’t realize how long we spend our time and energy on certain websites on the internet and even for which purpose. 

There may be challenges in cyber-security, information management, and product design. These challenges will have to be faced with constant experimentation of features and a diverse group of problem-solving perspectives. 

Our main function is to create a productive environment, where users can become more self-aware. This self-awareness can lead to the optimization of the user’s time and energy, not only on theweb, but also in day-to-day life. 

Our project shows improvement to the unproductive activities we do on the web. By analyzing at the usage of what we browse on the web, we can optimize time and be more productive. By creating awareness of our activities on the web, we can fix our habits and learn to be productive. It’s okay to enjoy other things on the web, but not too much.

 

Diversity: 
What will make this project a great one is a diverse team of different backgrounds, great design, and lots of experimental features. This team will consist of designers, computer architects/programmers and operators. 

The design for the software application will be simple like the Google home screen and very easy to navigate around with options that the user can adjust. A diverse team will help spot flaws that other people wouldn't have seen. Also, we examine that there is some technical advancement in our interview with the professionals and target audience, such as customer-friendly visualization and variation of personal records, including medical records, financial data, and more. 

 

Moving Forward: 
   We will build our website that explains all the features and benefits of this software application. It will define the core function, the design, and also have a “request demo” section.
