Objective: to figure out if IKNOWMEE was going to solve a want or need. I wanted to know if students thought that this would be a very beneficial addition to their short-term and long-term lives. Basically, is this a viable product?

 

What problem does it solve?

1. It solves the problem of lack of self-awareness. We don’t know how we spend our time and energy on the internet, which are 2 of our most important resources. We need to figure out who we are in the web by measuring how much time we spend on certain websites and what type of content we engage with most.

 

2. After measuring our internet identity, we are able to optimize our use of time and energy. In a world of mega-trillions of information, we need to be able to make sure that we’re utilizing our time and energy in the most efficient way! What does this mean? This means that we should be curating what we engage with and why. Maybe we can optimize entertainment times to 3% of daily internet usage. Maybe we can optimize education times to 30%, creativity times to 20%, and etc…

 

What are the cool benefits of it?

1. This could allow friends to share the data with each other! Maybe we can make better friends because we can find out what they’re actually interested in. Action over talk. Time spent over time talked about.

 

2. I can see cool industries coming out of this data and platform. Better advertising, cool VR companies building on top of our data, etc.

 

3. Who knows? Perhaps, people can add medical records to this platform, and actually add a lot more information that’s not just an online identity! What if it had medical records, passport info, driver’s license, credit card info, etc.!? What would that entail?

 

What are the obstacles ahead?

1. Actually gathering this data. How do we gather online data?

 

2. Security. How do we secure all this data?

 

Where do we start?

1. Medical data? Passport/Credit Card? What’s some information that would be awesome to have it completely accessible and transferable?
